Hi,
This is happening to me too and it'due south really infuriating. I am the ambassador and reduced notifications to never, just the message keeps actualization and I cannot play the game! Whatsoever help will exist greatly appreciated.

Correct click on the Civ 4 icon and run as administrator.

This doesnt piece of work either. Later researching the starting time fourth dimension it brash right-clicking then running equally administrator, but it only brings upward the splash screen. when you click play, zilch happens.

I go that problem also. Right clicking and selecting the run as administrator nonetheless doesn't piece of work. The dialogue boc closes and nada else happens.

I had this same problem, and too establish that running the plan with administrative privileges achieved null.
But after patching Beyond the Sword to version 3.19 I establish that it worked fine (even without whatever compatibility settings). Obviously y'all have to patch manually with an .exe instead of in-game. Here is a link to where you can download it. http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?exercise=file&id=12576
To reiterate, this is the Across the Sword expansion; I have not checked the other editions of Civ 4. I hope it helps though.

I did as y'all suggested and uninstalled, so re-installed Beyond the Sword. I downloaded the patch, just when I attempted to extract the files, I got Error 0x80004005: unspecified mistake. Is it a problem with not specifying the correct destination file?
